At Surge Ministries, we believe that life is a team sport - best done together! Small Groups are a great way to meet new friends, grow in your relationship with God, and just have fun!

 

Group sessions run three times a year, for 8 to 10 weeks at a time, with one month off after each session. It's very similar to a college course schedule. Every group is BRAND NEW each session, so don't worry about being new - everyone is!

Q:  What is a Small Group?

Small Groups are groups of 5 - 15 people who meet weekly around a common interest, study, or activity. They are made up of people like you who want to grow spiritually and connect with others who are heading in the same direction.

 

Q: When do Growth Groups start? How long do they last?

Small Groups start in February, June, & September. Each Group session lasts between 6 - 10 weeks and then it's over.

 

Q: How many Groups can I join?

Because of limited capacity, and to allow room for everyone, please sign up for no more than two Small Groups.

 

Q: What about childcare?

Childcare is up to the individual group and the sign-up information will indicate if a group offers childcare or not.

 

Q: What type of Group should I do?

You'll find 4 types of groups at Surge:

 

Activity Groups: These groups are all about fun! Whether it's bowling, fishing, riding motorcycles, shopping, movie or game night - these groups are a great place to get to know people and never have any homework!

 

DVD Groups: These groups will select a DVD curriculum rather than a book. There are tons of great studies available from some of the best teachers in the world. DVD groups are actually pretty simple. You show up, watch a video for 20 to 25 minutes, and then you participate in some fun, topical discussion. These groups typically have very little, if any, homework.

 

Study Groups: These groups usually use a book or a Bible study guide. There will likely be some reading or homework to do between group meetings.

 

"Go" Groups: If you've ever wondered how we will serve our community or support missions, this is it. While most groups organize some type of service project, "Go" Groups go out into the world and are dedicated to serving from day one.

Q:  My schedule is pretty hectic. I probably won't be able to make it to every meeting. Can I still participate?

Yes! Life Groups are all about growing in your faith and making connections with others.
